Trends 2010 by bora.herke stilbüro

Last year I went to the Ambiente fair in Frankfurt and really enjoyed the trendzones and the trendtalk by bora.herke stilbüro. I will not be going this year - so I was happy to find 4 new 2010 trend interpretations by them. They are titled.

1. present + everlasting
2. crafted + original
3. progressive + sensitive
4. genuine + sincere

- and you can read more about each trend here at Ambientes website.

The one that appeals to me and my scandinavian roots the most is off course number 4. genuine + sincere.

Cop15 - from a graphic point of view

Untill the 18th of December COP15 is taking place in Copenhagen - so let us hope The United Nations Climate Conference will result in a global agreement to protect the Earth.

Looking at it all through my graphic design eyes - I like the blue COP15 logo - eventhough the one to the right was my favorite when I first saw the other winners last year. But I have no idea why a professional jury selected the last 2.prize logo - since it´s everything a logo shouldn´t be - maybe they just wanted an icebear! Anyway I always like to see the runner ups in such logo competitions.

My small contribution to COP15 was to design this magazine about Danish and Greenlandic climate research for a client - I always end up reading the articles while I design because I like science and love Greenland - and if you wish to read about The Melting Ice you can do it here and in Danish here, Isen smelter.

Belli Bellucci!

These rings and broches made from coloured pencils, by Italian designer, Maria Christine Bellucci - are so belli belli! that they have been added to my wishlist immediately.

I´m slowly catching up on all the recent post around the Blogs - and here are 3 of my favorites.
(By the way - have you tried Bloglovin - It´s a great way to keep track of the blogs you follow)

1. Lovely ABCcards to download here and personalize for friends and family - by Brooke Reynolds of Inchmark, for DesignSponge. I´ll start doing 3 sets now for Nanna and her 2 cousins who will celebrate Christmas in Thailand with us this year - the cards will fit perfectly in my backpack.
2. Issue 2 of the childrens magazine Papier-mache - a great overview of the latest trends for childrens stuff - It´s like an Australian online version of the French magazine MILK.
3. Christmas Creatures by Mibo - so cute - and we/I really loved making the owls last month - if you want to make your own sets with a child I recommend you print the files on A3 paper instead to make them easier to cut for little hands. Enjoy!

Trendy trees

I spotting a trend here - with big branches used as interior decorations - I guess it´s not a new thing - but in these photos from Sandbox Studio - and Tine K - they have got it just right!

Yesterday a huge man on a bike crashed into Nanna and I on our way to kindergarden - my bike now needs a new backwheel and my bruised and shocked body really needs the long and luxurious treament at this Spa , which was booked weeks ago - I guess that´s what you call perfect timing!

I like

I really really like this new sofa by Moroso, this still life from the lastest issue of Boligliv - and the black lamp by Spanish designer Helena Rohner which is on my wishlist.

Little Super Heroes

I just had to share these little super heroes from the lastest issue of Small Magazine. I love the styling and how a few accessories turn these outfits into something special.

I´m also posting them as a reminder to myself that I have to get started soon on my book about Super Sofie.

I really wish that I will end up on a bench in the sun with my best friend when I get old - and that we will look as colourfull and fun as they do.

positive wall

I´m signing off for the weekend with this wonderful positive wall - as a reminder to myself that it´s a positive thing that I had to cancel my trip to Amsterdam this weekend due to lots of work and deadlines in my designstudio - at least my bank will be happy. It´s designed by a dutch graphic designer Maartje Kuiper for an Dutch interior exhibition, where VT Wonen covered a wall in positive quotes.

Ever since I came back from Ambiente in Frankfurt some months ago - I´ve been dying to share this Italian master with you, Rina Menardi. Her stand at Ambiente was like a little heaven of colors, shapes and craftmanship - and now that her new website is up and running it´s time to share. Go and see her wonderful collections which are a fusion of art, design and craftsmanship. And off course it´s all on my wishlist!

I found this acrylic kabinet by Hay - during their sale - and it´s now my new favorite item at home. It´s perfect for displaying personal favorites like seahorses and shells from Thailand.

Flower inspiration from Ambiente

I finally got the photos from our visit to Ambiente last month - photography wasn´t allowed in most places so instead I took pictures of all the lovely flower decorations everywhere - in my search for spring and inspiration. Enjoy!

All trendzones were made by the germanbased Bora.Herke stilburo - who had done a great job putting together some very inspiring and well made trendzones and a short and clear trendtalk which I enjoyed.
