Welcome & bear hug

My studiomate Line invited me to take part in one of her workshops - and here is what I made - a little cute bear saying welcome - don´t we all need that!? Actually the text is not on the painting yet - only via Photoshop - but don´t you think I should add it?
Have a great weekend!

An apple a day...

Outside the studio our apple trees and pear trees are now full of ripe pears and sour green apples. So I think it´s about time I get around to post some of the collages I made this spring, inspired by our Hanami-event and the flowering appletrees.

The collages measure 20 x20 cm and are sold in pairs for 180 $/900 ddk- and you can mix and match them as you like.

I´ve also made a new background image for your desktop which you can download here. Enjoy!

Adopt an Owl

I´ve just added a White Owl and a Flower Owl to my shop so they are now ready for adoption. And they now come with a brand new logo designed by me - and a small description of their personaleties.

Pillows for my nieces

This weekend we celebrated the christening of my sister´s babygirl Anna. My present was a pillow from Tulipaner & Tomater with Anna´s name on it - and with a piece of fabric from one of Nanna´s old dresses incorporated (the graphic flowers off course). The other pillow on the photo is for her sister (for her birthday). I ordered two matching pillows since the girls will probably end up sharing a room one day. You can see them both here.

And since "I had hired a pro" to do the sewing - I had time to create a little collage owl to match the pillow - so please notice how some fabric from the pillow is repeated on the owl´s wings - clever right!?

I´m glad my sister had reminded me that she would like an owl for the nursery - because I tend to forget that they actually make a great present - and instead I run out and buy some soft baby stuff. Anyway more owls are on their way to my shop soon.

My owl´s new home

It´s always fun to see your work in it´s new surroundings - and I must say that my little owl here fits perfectly into it´s new home at Pernille Melsted. Pernille is a coach and the author behind two great books about finding your passion. Her home was featured recently in Bo Bedre and you can see all the photos here - unfortunately they were taken before my owl moved in.

Jeg kan varmt anbefale hendes bøger og hendes inspirende nyhedsbrev.

Feels like spring

Today actually feels like the first day of spring - and there was even enough daylight in our living room to take some photos of my new spring-collages. In 2 weeks time the doors in our studio will be open for the public over the weekend - so I´m busy creating collages and new owls for this event. I´m also kind of nervous about the whole thing - since I´m not used to exhibit my stuff in public - but I know from experience that it´s important to challenge yourself now and then... so I´m doing it!

I´m also going to Frankfurt next week to visit Ambiente for the first time - and plan to return with lots of photos to share. Have a great weekend and a nice Valentines Day.

New year resolutions 2009

This collage sums up my new year resolutions for 2009.
Eat healty. Pray more. Love more. Dance more. Paint more. More Silence and No Smoking.

This weekend I held a workshop in our studio for a group of female friends, who all made visonboards for 2009. Both the process and the results were so wonderful - and I´m planning on making more workshops like this in 2009. You can get a glimpse at our studioblog here.

New owls in my shop

I´ve just uploaded some new owls in my shop, there´s a Science owl, a Hippie owl, a Girly owl, and a Craft Room Owl which I would like you to meet. It´s not easy to take good photos with natural lightning at this time of year - but I did the best I could.

Our Christmas market this weekend went really well - we had about 400 guest in our little studio and we will do it again next year I think - you can get a glimpse of the market at our new studio blog.

Weekend Greeting

Here´s a Happy Weekend greeting from me to you! It´s created via Polyvore - a great website that lets you mix and match images from anywhere on the web, to create outfits, interior designs, or any kind of collage. It´s a great tool for people who don´t have fancy design programs installed like photoshop etc. - and it´s also a great timewaster.

Adopt an Owl

A few weeks ago we had a visit from a professional photographer in our home and in the studio - and this is one of the only results I can share - since the shoot is not published yet. I did the styling - and I´m very pleased with how my little owl collage looks in my home - but I would be even more pleased if I could find a new home for it -my shop is always open you know!

Wedding collage

Here´s another thing I completely forgot to post. Back in June I made this commissioned wedding collage. The collage was ordered by my sweet former trainee Katrine as a morning gift for her husband. I incorporated some images of things and lyrics important to them - since they are both into music. I think commissioned pieces are fun to do and a wonderful gift - but I realised it was so much harder creating a collage when I actually know the person well. But they loved it - and had a great wedding day.
Have a great weekend everyone.

My home 2 - Nanna´s room

Well - this is another part of my home... and a little less zen I might add. If you are a parent too you probably know this scenario. The top picture is from when my daughter Nanna was less than 2 years old - and I still had a chance to "control" her room and the amount of toys in it. After she turned 2 things got a little out of hand - (thanks to her uncle who works at Lego!) and the amount of toys and stuff have grown rapidly ever since - so now it looks more like the second picture... and my plan is now to make it look more like the last picture... I´ll keep you posted on the project - and if you have any good advice on how to spend less time clearing the clutter in a childs room- please feel free to share them with me.

Cool Girl Inspiration

Here´s my mood board for the Super Girl I´m about to create for the Grib.2 challenge. The target group is girls from 4-6 years and so far she is strong like Pippi - saves the world like Barbapapa - and is as cool as Lauren Childs figures - and she can see colours not visible to the human eye. The world needs a new and fresh superhero - so dear readers please leave a comment and tell me what qualities, superpowers and gadgets my little hero should have!

Bambi-drama

I´m a citygirl - but for the last 3 weeks now we have been staying in our summerhouse due to the water leak in our apartment - and 2 nights ago we experienced some full-on-countryside -action! The area around the summerhouse is full of deer - and right now they have little Bambi-fawns. I have always wanted to see a fawn - so when we suddenly saw 2 deers and a tiny fawn outside the house I couldn´t believe my luck - I lifted my daughter up to show her the bambi - a true Kodak-moment! - and then seconds after the deers went nuts and started screaming/barking and tried to attack a huge fox that came out of nowhere and grabbed the fawn, standing between it´s mothers legs - and ran of with it - OMG!!!! - it was like something from National Geographics and the screams from the mother and the other deer was just so heartbreaking! We could hear them calling/barking for hours afterwards and so for the last 2 evenings I´ve been sneaking around the area like some kind of Pochahontas in search of the fawn! I haven´t found it yet - but saw a huge badger while searching - and I think our trip to Copenhagen this weekend will do me good - since Country living is too action packed right now!

To get the experience out of my system I created this collage yesterday - using images from Etsy - I hope the sellers don´t mind and their products are great so have a look here.
