An apple a day...

I´ve just spent 3 days in bed with the flu so my body needs some care now - and this cool letterpress poster might do the trick! It´s called An apple a Day - Just peel the little variety sticker from every apple you eat and affix it to a square on the poster. By Etsy seller Vik design.

I love clever graphic design like this - the only downpoint is that the organic apples I buy don´t have variety stickers - but right now I wish they had.

My favorite things

The lovely and always inspiring Holly from Decor8 asked me to guestblog - while she is busy moving to Germany - what an honour! Holly has asked co-bloggers to share 5 of their favorite things in their home. My favorite things in my home will be shared one of the next days on Decor8 - I´ll let you know. But to be honest my favorite home right now is our summerhouse where we spend 3 wonderful and relaxing weeks in July. So as a little extra feature I´ve put together my 5 favorite things from our summerhouse also.

1. My new Baby Deer pillow by Sharon Montrose -
   and the 2 little baby deer outside the summerhouse.
2. Picking and arranging wild flowers.
3. That the weather was perfect for painting the house black and white (instead of white & blue).
4. Making my own ceramic bowls at a workshop with a local ceramist (both Nanna & I was very pleased with our results)
5. Simple living and doors wide open to the outside.
   
   
   

Summertime

It´s a girl!

Ohhh! I had the best news today - and even cried with joy. My older sister who is expecting her third child in January was scanned today and told me they will be having a baby-girl. It will be wonderful to have a baby in the family again and I just had to look at Etsy for baby-stuff - and here are some things that would be perfect for a little Baby-girl right now. Wool Bird, Bunny Onies , Brown fawn, Acorn Babyhat and a Collage Owl by me.

January 09 will be the big baby-boom month - my sister, my half-sister, a friend in Milan and a friend in Århus will all be giving birth in January.

on my desk

It´s always funny to discover where you inspiration came from - I guess it´s pretty clear now that my desk last week inspired my choice of colors for the Simple LivingRoom moodboard - but I only just noticed it today when I saw this photo! The meringue was delicious and so is my owl print from Etsy-seller YumiYumi!

Bambi-drama

I´m a citygirl - but for the last 3 weeks now we have been staying in our summerhouse due to the water leak in our apartment - and 2 nights ago we experienced some full-on-countryside -action! The area around the summerhouse is full of deer - and right now they have little Bambi-fawns. I have always wanted to see a fawn - so when we suddenly saw 2 deers and a tiny fawn outside the house I couldn´t believe my luck - I lifted my daughter up to show her the bambi - a true Kodak-moment! - and then seconds after the deers went nuts and started screaming/barking and tried to attack a huge fox that came out of nowhere and grabbed the fawn, standing between it´s mothers legs - and ran of with it - OMG!!!! - it was like something from National Geographics and the screams from the mother and the other deer was just so heartbreaking! We could hear them calling/barking for hours afterwards and so for the last 2 evenings I´ve been sneaking around the area like some kind of Pochahontas in search of the fawn! I haven´t found it yet - but saw a huge badger while searching - and I think our trip to Copenhagen this weekend will do me good - since Country living is too action packed right now!

Bird nerd

Outside my new studio is a wee garden full of birds - so yesterday I studied my beloved vintage Birdbook to do some research for my next collagebird, I wanted to make a "spring-bird" instead of the owl - and then today I stumbled upon Bird Nerd via Decor8 - and could see that "my idea" had already been done perfectly - and I got a bit disillusioned! Does that happen to you too sometimes?

Snowflake pattern

Via decor8 ´s Etsy finds, I saw these great snowflakes from Etsy seller Enna. Take a a closer look and you´ll see little figures like birds and rabbits in them. This design was actually cut by hand with little scissors and then turned into a pattern. I also like these snowflakes made with Hama beads by Christine.

Inspiration board

I have to focus on the good things today - cause I´m still very upset about the election results and couldn´t sleep - so instead I was busy planning how we could migrate to New Zealand. Delicate Mobiles

Seem like delicate DIY mobiles is the next big thing - and there are so many great examples around the web right now, like the top one by Puka, this one from Karin in ceramics, the wooden one from Boohou and the bottom one by Debi Van Zyl. Making a mobile could be a fun weekend project - have a great weekend. Just saw this mobile by Lisa Congdon for their Rare Device Opening - and not to forget these paper mobiles by Frazier&Wing.

Calenders 2008

Diana Fayt´s new 2008 calender is for sale now - and it looks just as great as the last pictured here below - which I missed.

Instead I got a letterpress calender from Ilee - a rich mix of old school letterpress, silkscreen, foil stamping, fine papers and handpainted accents - it´s so beautiful, and she has a new 2008 calender for sale in her Etsy shop now - see picture below.

Squirrel hunt at Etsy

I did a little research on squirrels yesterday at Etsy, because I had to draw one, and look what autumn goodies I found. Felt Squirrels by sugarsquirrels. acorn earrings by Maryandjane, button set by KungFuCowgirl, japanese fabric by luckykaerufabric, and knit woodland patterns by AmyGaines. Hunting Squirrels is great fun!

Elasticco - Elodie Blanchard

I fell in love with this scarf at etsy - and the profile name rang a bell, and to my delight I revisited Elodie Blanchard´s homepage. How can you not love someone who creates great stuff out of rubberbands and wonderfull textile projects. Here´s a new Etsy interview with her.

Etsy - treasury

Etsy has just ended a fun contest where you could create a poster with product´s from Etsy sellers. The results can be seen here - and the posters are such a great way to discover new sellers and new finds on Etsy. - I loved this poster and all the sellers shown on it. Have a lovely weekend.
